Integration of Programs and Services

Residents from the Manor are able to participate and enjoy the programs and services available at Heritage Place which includes church services, programs, outings, foot care and a mobile dental clinic. Residents from the Manor are encouraged to enjoy congregate dining services offered 5 days per week at Heritage Place. There are many volunteer opportunities available as well. Additional services such as housekeeping, laundry and personal support can be accommodated.

Heritage Place Dining Room

Manor Residents are welcome to come dine out at the Southview Dining Room, located on the fourth floor at Heritage Place. Nutritious meals are served at a reasonable price. The dining room seats up to 70 people at tables of four. You may invite guests to join you for a meal at a reasonable charge. You must sign up for dinner by 1:00 pm the day before the dinner is to take place (sign up book is located just outside the dining room).


A monthly menu is provided with the monthly Housing Newsletter and Program Calendar. Our Executive Chef’s goal is to provide a varied selection of meals for lunches and dinners. We are sure you will enjoy the dining services at Heritage Place.

Heritage Place Fitness Room

To maintain your weight and fitness, you are encouraged to use the exercise equipment in the Fitness Room on the main floor at Heritage Place at your leisure. A treadmill, two types of exercise bikes and a stepper are provided along with free weights, mats, and other fitness equipment. You may also enjoy participation in an organized fitness program.

With authorization from your physician you can use the fitness equipment. If you would like to use the equipment on an individual basis, you must participate in an orientation session provided by the Program and Therapy staff to understand how to operate it safely before you start to use it.

Heritage Place Games Room

On the fifth floor at Heritage place you are welcome to use the pool table and a dart board in the games room.


Heritage Place Green House

You are encouraged to use the greenhouse facilities located on the fifth floor next to the outdoor deck at Heritage Place for your own plants and gardening hobbies. You must supply your own gardening materials. It is best to label your plant if you intend to leave it in the greenhouse.


Heritage Place Library

A small library is located on the third floor of Heritage Place for the convenience of everyone. Its’ shelves are well stocked with a variety of hard and soft cover books including large print Readers Digests. Residents are asked to sign out the books and return them when they are finished. The Barrie Public library provides our library with a rotation of large print and talking books for Residents to borrow. Audio tapes, DVD and VHS movies are also available.

Wellness Center

The Wellness Clinic at the Terraces is a Nurse Practitioner led clinic funded by Ontario’s Ministry of Health and Long Term Care. The Nurse Practitioner, in consultation with a local physician provides a wide variety of health, education and counselling services to people who reside within our buildings and some from the local community. Patient load is finite but preference is given to the IOOF Homes Residents of the Terraces and Heritage Place and the Manor.
