Recreation & Leisure Activity Programs

A wide variety of programs and outings are offered for Residents providing entertainment, education and socialization. Programs include bingo, movie nights, cooking lessons, games nights, and more. Residents also run their own social programs in the President's Lounge which boasts a large flat screen TV and fireplace. The Heritage Place auditorium offers space for larger programs, meetings and special events.

The IOOF Homes' bus is used for shopping, dining, banking and sight seeing trips throughout the year.  There is a small 'pay per use' fee for the transportation program.

The IOOF Seniors Homes Inc. supports the concept of wellness promotion and illness prevention. Adaptable equipment and specially trained staff have been incorporated into programming. A qualified Recreationist  is available to provide restorative care, recreation, and social programs. Programs may include daily, evening, and special events as well as trips and outings. You are also encouraged to use the facilities to plan, conduct, and participate in your own Resident run social events. Every month you will receive a newsletter entitled, “Bits and Bites” that includes Resident poems, upcoming events, the monthly activity calendar, menus and a place for open communication with Residents. Upcoming activities, programs and events are also posted in large print calendars, on bulletin boards throughout the building or on the Medisystems TV in the main lobby on a monthly basis.

If you wish to go on bus outings, please sign up in the Program Room located on the main floor across from the Housing Accommodations Office.

Family members, friends and Volunteers are welcome and encouraged to assist during Resident programs.
